UK Multi-Family Office Bags Wealth Management Director From HSBC

Sand Aire, the London-based multi-family office, has appointed Simon Paul as a director of wealth management. He will report to chairman Alexander Scott. Mr Paul joins from HSBC Private Bank where he was head of the onshore ultra high net worth team. He has spent over 20 years advising families on all aspects of the management of their wealth, having worked at Kleinwort Benson, Barclays Private Bank and Schroders. He said: “Having spent many years in the industry, I am convinced that the era of the multi-family office has arrived and that there is growing demand from very wealthy families for completely independent and objective advice. Sand Aire is one of the longest-established multi-family offices in the UK with the kind of investment offering that can only exist within a small, free thinking team.” Following that of Paul Reynolds in February 2007, this appointment brings the number of directors of wealth management to three. A spokesperson for Sand Aire told WealthBriefing that the firm remains expansion-minded.
